Hatching of The Red Eyed Tree Frogs’ Eggs

You should use plastic container with a dechlorined water, aquatic plants, PVC troughs placed at a sliding position. Place the eggs on the troughs, slightly above the water. Remember to mist the eggs once a day. After several days, the tadpoles will start to hatch and slide into the water.

Once the tadpoles are growing, you need to transfer them to 20 gallon aquarium, bottom with at least 1 inch of gravel and filled with some aquatic plants. You may need to install mechanical and place some biological filters to control and maintain the water cleanliness and quality. The water temperature should be maintained at 75F to 80F. Control the PH at 6.8 to 7.2.

After 7 to 9 weeks later, you may notice that the tadpoles will have legs growing. Place few larger stone for the froglets, eventually they will climb out of the water and rest. At this time, it is a good practice to lower the water level.

Don’t be surprise that the red eyed tree frog froglets will not eat for several days while absorbing their tails. Only very crickets and flies can be fed to them during this life stage.
